German Horseman's Badge in Bronze (Reiterabzeichen). Instituted in 1930 by the German National Federation for the Breeding and Testing of Thoroughbreds, and designed by W. Heitinger, the German Horseman’s Badge was awarded in bronze, silver and gold, with the bronze awarded for successes in horse racing. The medal was worn on the left breast of the uniform. The badge is a Third Reich period produced example, recognizable at the capital 'R' (Reiter) at the bottom. The tombak type badge is nicely maker marked by the company of 'L.Chr. Lauer' from Nürnberg/Berlin. The badge is complete with a functional pin & catch, the catch is slightly bent, see photos. Nice example in good used condition!
