'Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber'

Description

Infantry Assault Badge in Silver (Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber). The Infantry Assault Badge in silver was introduced on 20 December 1939 by Generaloberst 'Walther von Brauchitsch', for award to all ranks of non-motorized, Infantry and Mountain Infantry units who participated in three different assaults on three different days. The hollow design tombak (Buntmetall) type badge is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to production by the company of 'Otto Schickle' from Pforzheim. The badge is having a functional pin and catch. The badge still retains a fair amount of its original silver finish and is showing a nice darkened age patina. Stunning original early Infantry Assault Badge in very good condition!
