Infantry Assault Badge in Silver in Half Box

Description

Infantry Assault Badge in Silver (Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber). The Infantry Assault Badge in silver was introduced on 20 December 1939 by Generaloberst 'Walther von Brauchitsch', for award to all ranks of non-motorized, Infantry and Mountain Infantry units who participated in three different assaults on three different days. The badge is executed in 'Feinzink' and still retains some of its original silver finish. The badge is nicely maker marked with 'R.S.S.' indicating production by the company of 'Richard Simm & Söhne' from Gablonz an der Neiße. Of course are the pin and catch fully functional. The badge comes in its rare original half carton box of issue as found together, regrettably without the lid, see photos. Rare original set in good condition!
