Kriegsmarine Minesweeper War Badge (Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-, U-Boot-Jagd und Sicherungsverbände). The Minesweeper’s war badge was instituted on 31 August 1940 by Oberbefehlshaber der Kriegsmarine und Großadmiral 'Erich Raeder'. The badge is a late war 'Zink' example, the badge is showing great detail and still retains all of its original finish showing polished highlights. The badge is complete with a functional pin and catch.The badge is nicely maker marked with 'R.K.' indicating production by the company of 'Rudolf A. Karneth & Söhne' in Gablonz an der Neiße. It's very difficult to find a zinc-type Karneth Minesweeper Badge in this condition. Nice original badge in stunning condition!
