War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords (Kriegsverdienst Kreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwerter). The War Merit Cross was instituted by Adolf Hitler on 18 October 1939. The cross is a nice tombak (Buntmetall) example and comes with its original 24cms long sized ribbon, stored in its rarely seen original black coloured 'LDO' type box as found together. The cross is maker marked with number '80' indicating production by the company of 'G.H. Osang' from Dresden. The 'LDO' marked box is showing some normal small damages and usage on the corners and is in overall very good condition. Unfortunately somone wrote something inside the lid. The box is a rarely seen black coloured example. Nice original set in good condition!
