Waffen-SS Mountain Trooper's ankle boots (Bergschuhe für Gebirgsjäger/Ski-jäger). Due to the nature of the terrain and the commonly colder climate that the Mountain Divisions were expected to serve in, special clothing, equipment and footwear was developed specifically for their use. This is a nice pair of Waffen-SS Mountain/Ski Trooper's ankle boots, made of dark-brown leather, complete with all hobnails. The boots are made according to the Finish 'Lapplander' type boots. The boots are nicely maker marked by the company 'Wefsels' and dated 1942. The boots are a big size '11' (45) which is a perfect size for a mannequin. The boots are having 6 eyelets, the boots are complete with original period shoe-laces as found. The boots are showing the expected period use and wear and some small damages, see photos for the condition. This pair would be perfect for a SS Ski/Mountain Trooper's display. I've enclosed a period photo which shows this type of boots in use. Hard to find pair of textbook original Waffen-SS 'Gebirgsjäger' boots!
