Wehrmacht (Heer) Ankle Boots
Rare original pair of Wehrmacht EM's Ankle Boots (Schnürschuhe). In early 1940 the lace-up ankle boots were introduced as a leather conservation method and by 1941 the ankle boot was issued to all new recruits in place of the marching boots. This is a nice pair of lace-up ankle boots, made of blackened leather. The boots are having rarely seen mountain trooper style hobnails. The low boots are nicely maker marked by the company 'Martin Söhne', the markings inside the shaft look to be dated 1941. The low boots are size 26 marked which is a perfect size for display on a mannequin. The boots are complete with a pair of original period German shoe laces. The boots are showing the expected period use and wear, regrettably the stitching on the back of the shaft of one of the boots came loose, this can of course easily be repaired. This pair would display great on a combat uniform. Hard to find original pair of Wehrmact low boots!
