Westwall Medal (Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen). The Westwall medal was instituted by Adolf Hitler on 2 August 1939 for military personnel, and civilian employees, who assisted in the planning and construction or defence of the German fortifications on the western border of Germany. The 'Buntmetall' medal has been period mounted on a so-called 'Einzelspange'. It comes with its functional pin/catch attachment for mounting it on a tunic. Nice example in good used condition!
