WH (Heer) Award Document Grouping
WH (Heer) Award Document Grouping from Oberschirrmeister 'Richard Saffran', he was a member within the 'Oberfeldzeugstab 2'. The grouping is consisting of various early pre-war Sport Award Documents for various sports badges, see photos. Also included is the award-document for the War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords. This document is stamped by the Generalquartiermeister of the Oberkommando des Heeres, and hand signed by General Eduard Wagner, being a very interesting signature, on the day of the famous 20 July plot, Wagner arranged the flight that took Claus von Stauffenberg from the Wolfsschanze back to Berlin. As the Hitler assassination attempt had failed, Eduard Wagner soon realised he would be arrested and committed suicide on 23 July 1944. All documents are in good used condition, some of the Sports Award booklets are complete with portrait-photos, one booklet is showing an interesting portraitshowing Richard wearing his Hitler-Jugend tunic. Interesting and decorative original award document grouping!
