WH (Heer) Award Document Grouping
WH (Heer) Award Document Grouping from Unteroffizier 'Damian Kreisch', he was a member within the '2./Gren. -Regt. 544' (2. Grenadier-Regiment 544). The grouping is consisting of 5 Award-Documents (Urkunden), each at (DIN) A5 size. Damian had been wounded on 23 August 1942 and was awarded the Wound Badge in Black (Verwundeten Abzeichen in Schwarz) on 13 March 1943. Damian was awarded with the Infantry Assault Badge in Silver (Infanterie Sturmabzeichen Silber) on 1 July 1943. On 27 February 1944, Damian was awarded with the Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). On 17 February 1943, Damian was wounded for the third time and therefor was awarded with the Wound Badge in Silver on 30 April 1944. During the period Damian was awarded with these last two decorations his Regiment saw heavy action in the 'Cherkassy' Pocket. On 20 August 1944, Damian was awarded with the Iron Cross 1st Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse). This document was personally signed by Generalleutnant u. Divisionskommandeur 'Walther Hahm', he was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oakleaves. All documents have been folded once and some are slightly damaged, see scans.
