WH (Heer) Pionier Officer's Field Blouse with tank destruction strip
Wehrmacht (Heer) M36 style Officer's Tunic as intended for a 'Leutnant der Pioniere' (Engineers). The German Officer’s service tunic followed the basic design of the Enlisted Men/NCO’s field blouse, the most readily visible difference (besides the insignia) are the turned up French cuffs. This is a nice quality, 'privately purchased' M36-style field-grey wool tunic with dark-green collar. The tunic is in overall very good condition with minor traces of usage. The buttons are all the field-grey pebbled examples. The tunic is complete with all insignia, including a nicely hand-embroidered breast-eagle, shoulder boards and officer's type collar tabs. Both the collar tabs and shoulder-boards are piped in the black 'Truppenfarbe' (branch colour) indicating the 'Pioniere' (Engineers). The left breastpocket is showing loops to attach various awards. A 'Kuban' campaing shield is sewn to the wearer's left sleeve and a rare original Tank Destruction Badge in Silver (Sonderabzeichen für das Niederkämpfen von Panzerkampfwagen durch Einzelkämpfer) or also called 'Panzervernichtungsabzeichen' has been sewn to the wearer's right sleeve. The tunic is not visible maker marked or dated, a faded name-tag is present inside the inner-pocket. The tunic is showing normal traces of usage and some staining and minor damages, see photos. Stunning original tunic for a combat engineer!
