Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse) with ribbon. On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The 2nd class cross was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. TheThe cross has a three piece construction with an iron core, it just shows some minor wear and great detail overall, the cross shows a slightly darker age-patina. The cross comes with its original early 12cms long sized ribbon as found. The cross is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to production by the company of 'Wächtler & Lange' in Mittweida. The cross is having a "Crunch Bead" type frame. Nice example in very good condition!
