Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The second class medal was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction with an iron core, it just shows some minor wear and great detail overall, the cross shows a slightly darker age-patina. The cross is not visible maker marked. The cross comes in a period converted wound badge in silver box as stored for years, the ribbon is pasted in the lid. The set was found like this in a private household in Germany. Nice original cross!
