Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The second class medal was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction, the cross shows some paint loss to the magnetic black core and looks slighlty touched up long time ago, see photos. The cross comes with its original 16cms long ribbon as found. The cross is a so-called 'Round 3' type cross which can be attributed to production by the company of 'Deschler & Sohn' from München. Rare original cross in used condition!
