This is a nice original black leather Bayonet Frog (Seitengewehrtragetasche) for the Dress Bayonet (Extraseitengewehr). The dress bayonet was a private purchase version of the S84/98 bayonet intended for dress wear. The bayonet was, accompanied by a bayonet frog, to be worn on the reverse left side of the load carrying waist belt. The bayonet frog is made of good quality black laquered leather, the frog is not visible maker marked or dated. Nice original example in good condition!
