BeVo woven sleeve-shield as intended for a volunteer within the 'Georgien' Legion (Georgien Landeschilde). The 822th Georgian infantry battalion was stationed at Zandvoort (Holland) in September 1943. On 10 January 1945 the Georgian battalion had to replace the Caucasians on Texel. On 6 April 1945 the Georgians are rebelling and kill the 400 Germans in their battalion. This type of shield was most likely introduced around 1943, these were worn by members within the Georgien Legion. The shield is executed in the neat so-called BeVo weave style on a field-grey linnen background. The shield is in absolute mint, unissued and unfolded condition. Nice original example!
