WH (Heer) M35 ex-DD Combat Helmet
Wehrmacht (Heer) M35 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M35). The stamped sheet steel construction M35 helmet retains most of its orignial paint showing a slightly darker fieldgrey paint being painted on top of the early apple-green paint indicating wartime reissue, the paint is showing scratches and normal traces of usage and some surface rust. The standard Heeres decal is retained for about 75%, the national tri-colour decal has been covered by the fieldgrey overpaint. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact, the original liner cord is present. The early liner is having an early single aluminum liner ring which is nicely maker marked by the 'Schubert Werke' from Braunschweig and dated 1937. The shell is marked with maker and size 'NS64' which indicates production by the company 'Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke AG' from Schwerte. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number 'E120'. The helmet is complete with the fragile remains of its original leather chinstrap. The helmet is in clearly used and uncleaned condition as found but is an overall nice original helmet for an in my opinion very fair price!
