Hindenburg Cross for Participants 1914-18 (Ehrenkreuz für Kriegsteilnehmer). The Cross was instituted in three forms on 13 july 1934 as a service medal for soldiers who participated in world war one. It was also the first decoration created by the Third Reich. The Hindenburg Cross is maker marked by the company of 'Assmann & Söhne' from Lüdenscheid. The cross has been period mounted on a so-called 'Einzelspange'. It comes with its functional pin/catch attachment for mounting it on a tunic. Nice originial example in good used condition!
