WW2 British RAF Flare Gun 'No.4 Mk.I'

World War 2 British Royal Airforce (RAF) No.4 MkI* pattern 1.5 inch (37mm) Signal Pistol, manufactured by the company of 'Webley & Scott'. These were primarily designed for use in RAF aircraft during WWII. It has distinctive locking lugs on the end of the barrel so it could be locked into a firing/locating bracket before being fired from the aircraft. Heavy steel construction signal pistol, it bears a serial number '14008'. The pistol is showing some 'BNP' (Birmingham Nitro Proof) marks as well. There is some red and green paint, probably from depot/storage, this can easily be removed. Nice example in good functional condition. This is an original pre-1945 flare gun, exempted by the Dutch law in Article 18, paragraph 1, in d, annex II of the Rwm (Regeling Wapens en Munitie).
