World War 1 Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse) in original 3D presentation case. Re-instituted by King Wilhelm II on 5 August 1914 for award during WWI. The second class medal was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction and a magnetic core. The cross is maker marked with an 'S' which is an unconfirmed manufacturer, possibly 'Schneider' or 'Sedlazek'. The cross comes with its original ribbon, nicely stored in a privately purchased type luxury 3D presentation case. The leather covered etui is showing minor traces of usage and is in overall very good condition. Nice and decorative original set in very good condition!
