This is a nice and scarce original German combat engineers 3kg explosive assault bag (Pionier Explosive Gepäck). The bag was part of the 'Pioniersturmgepäck' (Engineer’s Assault Pack). The Assault Pack was introduced on 27 March 1941 and consisted of a central back pack and two attached side packs designed specifically for the unique engineering assault equipment and essential items. This is the left hand side bag which is designed to hold two 3kg explosive charges and 4 clips of K98 ammunition. The bag is made of an olive drab canvas. The bag is nicely maker marked by the 'Wirtschaftsamt Litzmannstadt'. The connection strap on the back has been removed. The bag is showing normal traces of usage but is in overall good condition, see photos. Nice and scarce original engineers bag!
