K98 Combat Bayonet
K98 Combat Bayonet (Seitengewehr 98K). The K98 bayonet was a standard issue item and was accompanied by a bayonet frog to be worn on the reverse left side of the load carrying waist belt. The K98 bayonet remained the standard issue bayonet through-out the war with minor manufacturing variations. The bayonet and scabberd are non-matching, the scabberd is marked with serial-number '1142' and maker marked with 'S/238, 36'. The bayonet is marked with serial-number '5740' and maker marked and dated with '41 cof' indicating production by the company of 'Carl Eickhorn' from Solingen in 1941. The blade is in good condition, the bayonet is having bakelite grips. The scabberd is slightly rusted. The bayonet is in uncleaned condition as found. Nice original bayonet in good used condition!
