Kriegsmarine 'Marinehelferin' M43 Cap
Kriegsmarine 'Marinehelferin' M43 Cap (Einheitsfeldmütze M43 für Helferin). The M43 field cap was introduced for wear by all ranks on 27 September 1943 as a replacement cap for all other field caps then in use. The design of the M43 field cap was based on the earlier M42 overseas cap (Feldmütze) and the Mountain Trooper’s Mountain Cap (Bergmütze) with minor variations. This is a typical M43 cap intended for female naval personnel, constructed of dark blue-grey wool. The cap is having grey coloured rayon lining material with a small leather sweatband on the forehead section. The cap is nicely marked with a RB.Nr. and is dated 1944. The cap is size 62 marked being a large size intended to be able to fit over a ladies haircut. The cap is complete with an original period applied BeVo-woven cap-eagle in yellow on dark-blue indicating a female 'Marinehelferin'. The cap has been stored flat and therefore the carton inside the visor is folded, see photos, otherwide the cap is in very good unissued condition, see photos. Extremely rare original M43 cap for a Marinehelferin!
