Luftwaffe M40 Single Decal Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The steel construction M40 helmet retains most of its rough textured, blue-gray paint and about 75% of the decal. The helmet shows some normal traces of usage. All three liner retaining rivets are intact but might have been replaced once. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner in heavily damaged condition, the liner looks to be too large and not fitting in this shell very well so might habe veen added/replaced postwar. The shell is marked with maker and size 'SE66'. 'SE' is indicating production by the 'Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke A.G.' from Lauter. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped lot-number '8823'. Nice shell with nice paint and decal, the liner is in bad condition. Due to the condition priced accordingly!
