LW 'Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger' in Gold with Pendant
Luftwaffe Heavy, Medium & Dive Bombers Squadron Clasp in Gold with Pendant (Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger in Gold mit Anhänger). The 'Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger und Sturzkampfflieger' was introduced by 'Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring' on 30 January 1941. The clasps were awarded in three grades of, Bronze for twenty operational flights, Silver for sixty operational flights, and Gold for one hundred ten operational flights, the star burst pendant device signified four hundred operational flights. This badge is a nice mid to late war zinc example. There are no visible maker markings. The clasp has naturally a functional pin & catch construction. The clasp is showing a bit faded gold finish. The badge is showing two small soldered on arms with looped ends to secure the star burst pendant for four hundred operational flights. The pendant is made of zinc retains all of its original golden finish. Rare original clasp in very good condition!
