Named British P37 HQ 21st Army Group Captain's Battle Dress Jacket
British P37 Battle Dress Jacket as intended for an Engineers Captain assigned to the Headquarters of the 21st Army Group. The Battledress was made according to the British 1937 Pattern. The Battledress was the standard uniform for all Army Personnel, officers and other ranks in the theatres of operations. This Battledress is complete with label by 'Debenhams Limeted', the jacket is also marked with a British War Department 'broad-arrow' marking with depot code Q indicating issue in 1940. The battledress is size 5 marked. The jacket is named to Captain 'J.W. Small'. The jacket is complete with 'HQ 21st Army Group' patches sewn above Royal Engineers flashes. Three metal rank pips indicating a Captain's rank are are attached to each shoulder-board. The tunic comes together with some documents as found in one of the pockets including Captain J.W. Small's 1943 dated War Department Driving Permit. All insignia are original period applied. Great original tunic in good untouched condition!
