WH (Heer) Summer Field Blouse with tank destruction strips
WH (Heer) Cotton Summer Field Blouse (Sommer Feldbluse). The field blouse is made of fieldgrey cotton cloth and is nicely RB.Nr. marked on the inside, the tunic has four, pleated, pockets and field-grey finished, pebbled metal buttons. There is a six-button front closure using the same type of buttons. There is a dark-green woolen lay flat collar with a metal hook and loop neck closure. NCO Braid is nicely machine-sewn around the collar of the tunic. A pair of standard EM's type collar tabs are orginally machine-sewn to the collar. The collar-tabs are having the basic generic grey branch colour, the different branches of service within the German army were allocated a particular identifying 'Waffenfarbe' (branch of service) color which was generally displayed on the collar tabs. An exception to this rule were the general service collar tabs (Einheitskragenspiegel) for EM/NCO personnel that did not utilize the branch of service color enabling them to be worn by personnel serving in all branches of service. The tunic has buttons and loops for slip-on shoulder boards, the tunic comes with an original early pair of M36-type shoulder-boards as intended for an 'Oberfeldwebel'. The breast-eagle has unfortunately been removed. Two rare original Tank Destruction Badges in Silver (Sonderabzeichen für das Niederkämpfen von Panzerkampfwagen durch Einzelkämpfer) or also called 'Panzervernichtungsabzeichen' have been sewn to the wearer's right sleeve. The badges are sewn-on by hand, both are original but is very difficult to say when they have been sewn on. 1957 style ribbon bars are included and showing two tank destruction badges. The tunic comes togheter with a nice portrait photo of a Wehrmacht soldier in the same rank with two tank destruction strips sewn to his tunic, it should be noted that this is not the same tunic however the tunic with photograph and ribbon bars has been found like this in Germany in an old collection. This will for sure make a great tank destroyer combat display in any collection. Great original summer field blouse!
