Description

Wehrmacht reissued Austrian M1895 Bayonet Combat Bayonet with leather frog (Seitengewehr mit Seitengewehrtasche). The German Army reissued all kinds of foreign weapons and equipment including those of the Austrian Army. This is an Austrian M1895 Mannlicher Bayonet having a cut off muzzle ring indicating reissue in the German Army, the scabberd looks to have been repainted once. The bayonet is maker marked with 'OEWG' for Osterreiches Waffengesellshaft from Steyer (Austria). The bayonet is complete with its original Austrian type leather frog. Nice original bayonet and frog in heavily used condition!
