Luftwaffe M35 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M35). The stamped sheet steel construction M35 helmet retains most of its original early Luftwaffe-gray paint on the inside and is showing a rough saw-dust (Rautarn) overpaint on the outside, a national shield decal looks to have been period removed , the paint is showing scratches and normal traces of usage. All three early non-magnetic liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is an early M31 leather liner with reinforced aluminum liner-ring, the liner ring is nicely maker marked and dated 1939. The leather liner is complete with all eight fingers, the leather has been oiled once, the drawstring is missing. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ET62'. 'ET' is indicating production by the company of 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' in Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '3818'. Nice original Luftwaffe M35 helmet with 'Rautarn' camouflage overpaint in good used condition!
