'Schutzpolizei' NCO's Visor Cap
'Schutzpolizei' NCO's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). The police were divided into eight assorted branches of service and during the restructuring the different police agencies were assigned specific identifying 'Truppenfarbe' (Branch Colors), with green truppenfarbe being allocated to the 'Schutzpolizei des Reichs' (National Protection Police). The German Police had no enlisted ranks with the lowest rank being an 'Unterwachtmeister' which was equivalent to the German army rank of Unteroffizier. This is a visor cap with green coloured piping above and below its chocolate brown band and around its crown. The sweat-diamond is nicely marked 'Stirndruckfrei, Deutsches Reichspatent'. The sweatband is in used condition. The visor has been resewn to the cap once. The cap is complete with its original tombak cocarde and a 2nd pattern aluminum Police cap-eagle. The cap is having a blackened patent leather chinstrap. The cap is in good used condition showing some normal traces of usage and some minor (moth)damage. The cap is having a great shape. Nice original Schutzpolizei NCO's visor cap!
This cap originates from the collection of the recently closed Eyewitness Museum and was in display in the diorama in the last picture!
