WH (Heer) 'Artillerie' EM/NCO Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is privately purchased visor cap, complete with celluloid manufacturers sweat-diamond ('Raute') marked with 'Stirndruckfrei, Deutsches Reichspatent'. The cap is an extremely large size '59'. The leather sweatband is in good condition and marked with the size. The Visor cap is piped in the red 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Artillery personnel. The cap is complete with its original aluminum cap eagle and cap cocarde. The simulated leather chinstrap is in good condition. The cap shows some minor traces of years of storage but is in overall near mint condition, see photos. Stunning original Artillery Visor Cap!
