WH (Heer) Infantry Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice privately purchased Officer's example, complete with celluloid manufacturer's sweat-diamond ('Raute'), maker marked by the famous 'Erel' company. The cap is approximately a size '56'. The Visor cap is piped in the white 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Infantry personnel. The leather sweatband is in good used condition and matching marked with 'Erel Patent, Stirnschütz', see photos. The cap is complete with its original early nickel-silver cap eagle and hand-embroidered cocarde. The cap is having a correct officer's type chinstrap. The cap is showing some minor traces of usage and/or storage and some minor (moth)damages, see photos. The cap is having a great shape.
