Wehrmacht (Heer) M40 Single Decal Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The stamped sheet steel construction M40 helmet retains most of its rough textured, field-grey paint. The paint shows normal wear and scratches caused by usage, see photos. A standard Heeres decal is applied to the left side of the helmet, the decal is retained for about 95%. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact, the liner is a size '56'. The liner is complete with its original liner cord. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ET64' which indicates production by the company 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' in Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '5166'. Nice and honest original M40 combat helmet in good used condition!
