Wehrmacht (Heer) M42 Single Decal Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M42). The stamped sheet steel construction M42 helmet retains most of its rough textured, field-grey paint. The paint shows normal wear and the left side of the helmet has a standard Heeres decal which is retained for about 95%, this is the correct pattern eagle by 'Huber Jordan u. Koerner' (aka Thin winged decal) for this maker (EF). All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet has a M31 leather liner. The liner is a large size '59' and complete with original liner drawstring. The leather is in very good supple condition. The shell is marked with maker and size 'EF68' which indicates production by the company 'Emaillerwerke AG' from Fulda. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number, probably '3315'. The helmet is complete with its original leather chinstrap, the chinstrap is nicely maker marked and dated 1944. This helmet was taken home as a souvernir by a US GI who wrote his name on the liner 'C.J. Hoover'. Nice and honest original M42 combat helmet in very good condition!
