WH (Heer) 'Veterinarian' EM/NCO's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is in a nice quality issued visor cap, the celluloid sweat diamond is size '54' marked. The leather sweatband unfortunately is in heavily damaged and fragile conditions, see photos, the cap is maker marked underneath the sweatband by the 'Landeslief.-Genossenschaft für Schneider u. Mützenmacher' from Thüringen and dated 1937. The Visor cap is piped in the pink 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Veterinarian personnel. The cap is complete with its original aluminum cocarde and cap-eagle. The blackened patent leather chinstrap is in good used condition. The cap is showing one repair at the reverse. Besides the repair and fragile sweatband a great looking cap for a fair price!
