WH (Heer) 'Pioniere' EM/NCO's Visor Cap
WH (Heer) 'Pioniere' EM/NCO's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice privately purchased EM/NCO's example. The celluloid manufacturers sweat-diamond ('Raute') is missing. The cap has no visible size markings, the size is approximately 55cms. The Visor cap is piped in the black 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) as intended for Engineer (Pioniere) personnel. The cap is complete with its original early aluminum cocarde and zinc-type cap eagle. The cap is having a blackened patent leather chinstrap. The leather sweatband is in good used condition, the cap is dated 1939 on the inside of the sweatband. There are a few tiny moth nips to the wool. One side of the visor looks to have been repaired once, see close up photos from under the chinstrap and sweatband, this is not visible in display. The cap shows normal traces of usage and wear and is in overall good used condition, the cap has a nice shape. Nice and hard to find original Engineer's visor cap in good used condition!
