KM Coastal Artillery M43 Cap
Kriegsmarine Coastal Artillery M43 Cap (Einheitsfeldmütze M43). The M43 field cap was introduced by the Army for wear by all ranks on 11 June 1943 as a replacement cap for all other field caps then in use. The design of the M43 field cap was based on the earlier M42 overseas cap (Feldmütze) and the Mountain Trooper’s Mountain Cap (Bergmütze) with minor variations. The Kriegsmarine followed the Army and introduced the M43 style field cap around September 1943. This is a standard issue Kriegsmarine Coastal Artillery M43 field cap, constructed of field-grey wool. The cap is having a grey coloured cotton lining material, it is nicely marked with 'RBNr.0/0421/0012', size '58' marked and dated 1944. The cap is complete with an original machine-applied KM Coastal Artillery type BeVo-woven cap-eagle above a national cocarde. The cap is in very good condition with minimal traces of usage, see photos. Nice and nowadays hard to find original Kriegsmarine Coastal Artillery M43 cap!
