Kriegsmarine Minesweeper War Badge
Kriegsmarine Minesweeper War Badge (Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-, U-Boot-Jagd und Sicherungsverbände). The Minesweeper’s war badge was instituted on 31 August 1940 by Oberbefehlshaber der Kriegsmarine und Großadmiral 'Erich Raeder'. The badge is an early 'Buntmetall' version, the badge is showing great details, it is complete with a functional pin and catch. It has never been cleaned nor polished. The badge is not visible maker marked but it can be attributed to the company of 'Paul Meybauer' from Berlin, this is a rare early example being the earliest version produced by this manufacturer showing a cut-out swastika. The catch might have been period repaired. The badge is nicely vaulted (gewölbt) giving it a great look. Rare original badge in good condition!
