Kyffhäuserbund Gorget
'NS-Reichskriegerbund/Kyffhäuserbund' (NSRKB) Gorget (Ringkragen). The DRKB 'Deutscher Reichskriegerbund' (Kyffhäuserbund) was formed during WWI, and was based on the DKB 'Deutscher Kriegerbund', originally formed after the war of 1870-71. On 29 March 1938 the DRKB was renamed into NS-RKB 'Nationalsozialistische-Reichskriegerbund'. Kidney-shaped, aluminum breast shield with screw-attached appliqués: a gilt oak leaf wreath, flanked by flags and having an enamelled Kyffhäuser emblem to the center. The enamel is showing some small scratches/cracks caused by usage. The two ornate buttons in the corner that secure the clips for the chain are in place. The back of the plate is regrettably missing the woolen backing. One side of the chain is fixed, the other side is attached to a tab that is marked with the number 2. The full-length chain is present and is showing a a swastika/Iron Cross alternating motif. The gorget is showing normal traces of usage and is in overall good condition. Nice and decorative original example!
