This is an award document for the Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The second class medal was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. This award document was awarded to Obergefreiten 'Heinrich Herbertz' on 3 October 1943. The DIN-A5 sized award document is personally signed by General der Flieger and Kommandierende General des IV. Fliegerkorps 'Kurt Pflugbeil', a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oakleaves. This award document is in good condition but has regrettably been folded, see scans.
