DRK Subordinate's Hewer
Description
German Red Cross (DRK) Subordinate's Hewer (Hauer für Mannschaften). In December 1937 the DRK (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz) gained status as a legally recognized organization by the NSDAP. As with other essential services in Third Reich Germany, it came under control of the NSDAP. The hewer has bakelite grips. The blade is having a saw-toothed edge. The blade is not visible maker marked. The black painted scabberd is having nickel/silver parts, the bottom cap has been attached by screws indicating production by the company of 'Robert Klaas' from Solingen. The hewer is complete with its rare original leather frog. The frog is nicely marked with a capital 'H'. The dagger is in overall very good, only slightly used condition, see photos. Nice original DRK hewer!
