Description

US Veteran Bringback Wehrmacht vehicle identification flag (Fahrzeug Erkennungsflagge) and Bayonet grouping, brought back by a US Soldier called 'George Misleh' from the 569th Anti Aircraft Battalion. This is a special flag with grommets in the corners, used for vehicle identification from the air to avoid being bombed by other German units. The banners either had the black swastika in a white field on a red background or a Balkan Cross on white on a red background, this one is showing a swastika. The single-sided multi-piece construction flag is sized approximately 97 x 79 cms. The single sided flag has a red cotton base with a separate, machine stitched white roundel, having a black printed on Swastika, machine sewn to the center of one side of the flag. Included in the set is a parade style K98 bayonet, nicely maker marked by 'Tiger' from Solingen. The set comes together with a civilian set of brushes. The set comes together with original capture document on which all of these items are written down, the document was dated 12 May 1945. Nothing from the group is missing and all pieces are present as taken home by George. This set originates directly from the USA from a private household. Take a look at the photos for more details. Interesting original grouping!
