Wehrmacht (Heer) Officer's Sword/Saber (Säbel für Offiziere). The sword has a molded, black, bakelite grip with the correct horizontal silver wire wrap. The grip is in overall good condition with no chips or cracks. The obverse rounded tip, shield shaped, languet shows an embossed Wehrmacht style eagle with outstretched wings. The blade is nicely maker marked by the company of 'E.u.F. Hörster' from Solingen. The blade is in perfect condition. The scabbard retains almost all of its original black paint showing minor traces of usage and scratches, see photos. The sword comes with its original Portepee and blue woolen carrying bag (Stoffhülle). The carrying bag is having a functional zipper. Included with the sword is an original single shoulder-strap and portrait-photo from the bearer, being a 'Feldwebel der Nachschub-Truppen' (Transport Troops), photographed with his sword. The single shoulder-strap can easily being recognized in the photograph. This set was recently found together in Austria. This is one of the nicest swords I've had on offer. Stunning original grouping!
