WH (Heer) EM'S M43 Field Blouse in Olona cotton
Wehrmacht (Heer) M43 Field Blouse (Feldbluse M43). The M43 field blouse was basically a continuation of the modifications of the M33 field blouse which had evolved into the M36, the M40 and the M42 field blouses. The separate belt support hook suspenders have now been replaced by short integral straps. This is a late war last ditch South Front (Südfront) style field blouse constructed of tan coloured Italian so-called 'Olona' cotton, it has 6 front closure buttons and the recognizable four, non-pleated, front pockets. The field blouse is having a nicely original machine-sewn M40 style BeVo-woven breast-eagle, possibly reapplied once, and a pair of original machine-sewn collar-tabs. The collar-tabs are having the basic generic grey branch colour, the different branches of service within the German army were allocated a particular identifying 'Waffenfarbe' (branch of service) color which was generally displayed on the collar tabs. An exception to this rule were the general service collar tabs (Einheitskragenspiegel) for EM/NCO personnel that did not utilize the branch of service color enabling them to be worn by personnel serving in all branches of service. Shoulder-board loops are present, small buttons are not and look like they have never been applied, this can of course easily be done if wished so. The interior is mostly unlined, with dark-olive cotton used for reinforcements at the seams and for the inner pocket. The tunic is nicely RB.Nr. marked. The right, front-closure panel lining is marked with size-stamps (chest-size 90cms). The tunic probably dates around 1945. Stunning original late war M43 field blouse in very good, near mint, condition!
