WH (Heer) Officer's Dagger 'Anton Wingen Jr.'
Description
Wehrmacht (Heer) Officer's Dagger (Heeres Offiziersdolch). The dress dagger was designed by Berlin graphic artist 'Paul Casberg' and was officially approved for wear on '4 May 1935' along with specifically styled dagger hangers and a new pattern portepee. The dagger has a molded, white coloured, celluloid grip with the correct diagonally angled ribbing. The top screw-knob has been replaced with a zinc example. The dagger comes with its original nickel/silver plated scabbard with a random pebbled pattern to both the obverse and reverse and smooth side panels. One of the attachement rings for the hanger is loose on the scabberds, see photos. The blade is well marked with the etched manufacturer’s logo and script from the company of 'Anton Wingen Jr.' from Solingen. The blade is in good used condition with some minor staining. The Dagger is complete with its original damaged Dagger Hangers (Gehänge) as found together, missing part of the buckles, see photos. Despite the defects still a nice dagger for restoration or for parts usage. Priced accordingly!
