DJ Arm-badge 'Oberbann 2'
Deutsches Jungvolk Arm-Badge as intended for a member within the 'Oberbann 2'. Personnel of the Deutsche Jungvolk, the junior section of the Hitler Jugend, were indentified as belonging to a particuler 'Oberbann' (DJ district) by the wearing of arm badges which displayed a single black or white rune on a circular patch of coloured material. The whole badge (always machine-woven) was worked on to a square background of light tan-coloured cloth. The Oberbann badge was worn on the left upper arm directly below the HJ arm triangle badge. These were in use at least as early as 1934 and were probably phased out at the beginning of WW2. This example is having the yellow colour as intended for a member within 'Oberbann 2'. The badge is in very good, clearly used and tunic removed, condition. Great original badge!
