Dutch Motor Cyclist's Leather Jacket
Dutch Motor Cyclist's Leather Jacket (Motorrijders Jas). Protective leather jackets, pants and helmets were listed as special clothing and were issued to motor cyclist personnel. The jacket is made of high quality, supple, blackened leather. The jacket is nicely marked and dated with 'CM1931' (Centraal Magazijn). The jacket is complete with the almost always missing removable lining, the woolen lining is fastened with poppers, one popper is defect. A pair of so-called 'Bananenschillen' (rank insignia) have been removed from the sleeves, this indicates that the jacket has been worn by a Motorcyclist in the rank of a 'Sergeant'. The jacket is in good used condition and showing normal traces of usage and small damages, see photos. Nice and hard to find original Dutch motor cyclist's leather jacket!
