German Imperial Pilots Badge

Description

This is a stunning original Imperial World War 1 Pilots Badge (Militär-Flugzeugführerabzeichen). The Imperial Pilot's badge was originally introduced o 27 january 1913 by 'Kaiser Wilhelm'. All pilots, regardless of rank, were eligible. This badge is a nice later wartime period issued example made of hollow tombac (Buntmetall). This is a so-called Quadrat variant marked with a square punch on the pin, most likely produced by the company of 'Carl Dillenius' from Pforzheim. The badge shows very nice & pronounced detail overall. The badge has naturally a functional pin & catch construction. This example is most likely of production around 1917-18. Desirable original imperial pilot's badge in very good condition!
