Infantry Assault Badge in Silver (Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber). The Infantry Assault Badge in silver was introduced on 20 December 1939 by Generaloberst 'Walther von Brauchitsch', for award to all ranks of non-motorized, Infantry and Mountain Infantry units who participated in three different assaults on three different days. The badge is executed in 'Feinzink' and still retains almost all of its original thick copper coated silver finish showing a nice darkened age patina. The pin and catch are complete and functional. The badge is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to production by the company of 'E. Ferdinand Wiedmann' from Frankfurt am Main. Nice original badge in very good condition!
