Kriegsmarine Minesweeper War Badge (Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-, U-Boot-Jagd und Sicherungsverbände). The Minesweeper’s war badge was instituted on 31 August 1940 by Oberbefehlshaber der Kriegsmarine und Großadmiral 'Erich Raeder'. The badge is a late war 'Zink' example, the badge is showing great detail and still retains most of its original finish. The badge is complete with a functional pin and catch. The badge is nicely maker marked with 'AS' in a triangle, still an unknown manufacturer from the Gablonz area. This badge was recently found in a housecleaning in 'Emmeloord' in the Netherlands. Nice original badge in very good condition!
